<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a packet relay apparatus which performs packet relay with a high security strength by reducing changes of setting within the packet relay apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: A packet relay apparatus 1a, 1b comprises an uplink port 6a connected to a network 4; a branch port 5a, 5b connected to a terminal 2a, 2b; a packet relay unit 9a for relaying a packet received by the uplink port 6a or any one of the branch ports 2a, 2b to another port; and a port class memory 10a recording the branch port and the uplink port beforehand. When the packet relay unit 9a receives a packet, by referring to the port class memory 10a, it is determined whether a port receiving this packet is the branch port or the uplink port, so that a packet received by the branch port is prevented from being relayed to another branch port. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p> |
