PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steering device in which eccentric wear at a tilt sliding surface between a column and a bracket fixed to an automobile body or a feeding nut is reduced and at the same time a durability of the tilt sliding surface or a tilt driving mechanism is improved and a tilt position adjustment is carried out smoothly. SOLUTION: In the case that a load N1 and a load N2 are substantially equal to each other and a friction coefficientμ1 and a friction coefficientμ2 are equal to each other, a turning moment M2 in the clockwise direction becomes larger than a turning moment M1 in the counter-clockwise direction because a distance L2 is formed to be longer than a distance L1, and a turning moment in the clockwise direction of M2-M1=M4 acts against a lower column 3. As a result, a turning moment M3 in the counter-clockwise direction acting against the lower column 3 by a thrust force F3 is eliminated by a turning moment M4 in the clockwise direction, and the turning moment M3 in the counter-clockwise direction is reduced.
