PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology for accurately recording a newly-constructed road by using a novel method in comparison with a conventional method. SOLUTION: If a passed entrance ETC gate (105) is an ETC gate not recorded in map data (110), a vehicle navigation apparatus 1 sequentially accumulates an existing location of a vehicle detected by a location detector (130) until an exit ETC gate is passed (120) after a newly-constructed ETC gate is passed, or until an existing toll road (recorded in the map data) is initially matched by a map matching process after the newly-constructed ETC gate is passed (135). After the exit ETC gate is passed (120), or the vehicle location is matched with the existing toll road (135), an accumulated trajectory as a newly-constructed toll road is recorded in a memory (125, 140).
