A broadcasting receiving apparatus and a security method thereof are provided to prevent a broadcasting signal from being transmitted to a stolen external device, thereby increasing the security function of the broadcasting receiving apparatus. A CAS(Conditional Access System) unit(130) descrambles a received broadcasting signal using an authentication card. A first control unit(190) extracts the ID(Identification) of the authentication card and generates security information by a combination of the authentication card ID and product information. A storage unit(170) stores the security information. A first interface unit(160) transmits the security information to a predetermined external device(200) so as for the security information to be stored in the external device.
