A 0.75-power computing apparatus and a method for the same are provided to compute 0.75-power efficiently and fast, and efficiently compute a 0.75-power to a DSP(Digital Signal Processor) without computation units that compute square roots or inverse square roots and reciprocals. A 0.75-power computing method includes the steps of dividing a range of an input value X into predetermined number of areas in advance, expressing 0.75-power of the input value X as a predetermined approximation polynomial to prepare coefficients of the approximation polynomial corresponding to the input value X for each of the areas, confirming the prepared coefficients of the approximation polynomial to an actual input value X, and calculating 0.75-power of the actual input value X through the corresponding approximation polynomial.
