<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make a remote controller and a device to be remotely controlled one-to-one correspondent. <P>SOLUTION: First of all, a remote controller is brought to near a device to be remotely controlled that is desired to be set as a controlled system and next, in S1, the gain of an amplifier 7 is lowered, thereby making a transmission output lower than that of ordinary communication during which control is performed by the remote controller. Then, in S2, the remote controller performs multi-address communication of a confirmation frame. An LQI indicating a reception intensity in a case where the confirmation frame is received by the device to be remotely controlled being existent within a communicable range, is transmitted together with acknowledge ACK. Data of the received LQI are stored. In S5, a value of the stored LQI is referenced to detect a device having a maximum LQI value as a most proximate device.
