<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform smooth GUI operation while avoiding inconvenience that a transition or change in picture content of a GUI image in response to operation may be delayed, in accordance with a mode of video signal transmission of the GUI image via a network. <P>SOLUTION: A video apparatus applies moving image compression coding including bidirectional predictive coding processing to a video signal of video content corresponding to a main image and sends it as main image data for transmission and sends a GUI image corresponding to a sub image as sub image data for transmission of a structure constituted of compressed still image data that become a frame image to start a GUI image of novel image content and identity instruction information indicating the same content as the GUI image correspondingly for each frame period. A television receiver receives the main image data for transmission and sub image data for transmission, decodes the image data respectively, then composes video signals and displays them out. Thus, the GUI image is displayed out in a timing earlier than a case where transmission is performed, after moving image compression coding is applied. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
