<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high sensitive, high-speed, and improved electronic determining device for competitions using a charge multiplying device, and to provide a system. <P>SOLUTION: The electronic determining device for competitions uses a line sensor having a charge multiplying section behind a CCD element for increasing sensitivity and restraining noise, thus enabling images to be captured even in a low illuminance condition in the evening or at night and/or a high-speed photographing condition of 10,000 lines/second, where the images cannot be captured by a normal CCD or CMOS sensor.
