<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and a method for cleaning the inside of a drain pipe to efficiently remove oily deposits inside the drain pipe. <P>SOLUTION: This device of cleaning the inside of the drain pipe comprises a tank for reserving water therein, a storage container installed at the position where it is at least partly immersed in the water reserved in the tank, storing granulated bodies containing alkaline metallic compounds, and having, in the wall, the holes or gaps of such sizes that allow the water to pass therethrough, an airflow tube, an air flow generating means for introducing compressed air into the air flow tube and generating an air flow toward an outlet opening, a water introduction means for introducing the water into the air flow tube to suck the water with a negative pressure produced by the air flow for accompanying the air flow with the water, and a water guide means for introducing the water moving together with the air flow into the drain pipe together with the air flow.
