PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a developing device capable of preventing toner from being leaked or scattered from the developing unit body housing, especially, the vicinities of both ends of a developing roller using simple constitution. SOLUTION: One side part 40a of a scattering preventing sheet 40 for preventing the scattering of toner supplied from the developing roller to a photoreceptor drum is stuck to the edge part 88 of one side, along the longitudinal direction of the opening part 89 of the developing unit body housing 81, and the other side part 40b thereof is set as a free end; and the free ends 41 of the scattering preventing sheet 40, positioned near both ends in the shaft direction of the developing roller, form overhanging parts 41 overhanging, in a direction orthogonal to the shaft direction of the developing roller so as to cover the opening part near both ends in the shaft direction of the developing roller.
