PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To quickly and surely report that the version of software is old. SOLUTION: A data communication device includes: receiving parts 91 to 93 for receiving data and version information about the software of a communication destination device from the communication destination device; a first storage part 80 for storing version information 83 about the software of its own device 1; a processing part 10 for performing a predetermined process based on the data received by the receiving parts 91 to 93; a determining part 10 for determining whether or not either of the version information about the software of the communication destination device, received by the receiving parts 91 to 93, and the version information 93 about the software of the device 1, stored in the first storage part 80, is old; and a reporting part 10 which, when the determining part 10 determines that either of the pieces of version information is old, reports to the communication destination device or the device 1 corresponding to the version information that the version of the software is old.
