PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surface treatment device for a metal mold capable of easily forming recessed parts with desired dimensions to a metal mold at a low cost, and further capable of improving operability and productivity, and to provide a method for producing the metal mold using the surface treatment device. SOLUTION: The surface treatment device 11a comprises: a vibration mechanism 24 for vibrating a vibration shaft 30 to the axial direction back and forth; and a tool 18 having a curved surface 18a at the tip, and fitted to the vibration shaft 30. Then, the tip of the tool 18 is abutted against the surface 12 of a metal mold 10 by the vibration mechanism 24, thus recessed parts 14 are formed at the metal mold 10. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
