<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a luminance adjustment apparatus which performs the adjustment of variation of luminance without allowing a user to recognize the adjustment and can evenly maintain the luminance in spite of the occurrence of a change with lapse of time in the element constituting of pixels and a luminance adjustment method. <P>SOLUTION: The luminance adjustment apparatus includes a display element having a plurality of pixels arranged in a matrix, a row driving section and a column driving section applying voltages in a pixel unit to a plurality of the pixels, a power source supply section selectively applying the display voltage for displaying a video in the display element and an adjustment voltage for performing luminance adjustment, an adjustment current detection section detecting the adjustment current flowing to the pixel unit in the case where the adjustment voltage is supplied to the row driving section and the column driving section, and a controller selectively applying the display voltage and the adjustment voltage to the power source supply section. The controller calculates the voltage increase or decrease value of the pixel unit based on the adjustment current when applying the adjustment voltage to the power source supply section and controls the display voltage by applying the voltage increase or decrease value to the power source supply section when applying the display voltage. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
