<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a deodorizer capable of almost completely treating a harmful substance (odorous substance) such as VOC (volatile organic compound) included in an odorous gas. <P>SOLUTION: This deodorizer comprises a turbine 1 connected with a turbine shaft 3, a compressor 2 compressing a gas, a combustor 6 generating a combustion gas by burning an air-fuel mixture of a compressed gas and a fuel gas, and supplying the combustion gas to the turbine, a generator 4 connected with the turbine shaft, an invertor 5 for converting AC electric power output from the generator into AC electric power of prescribed frequency, a regenerator 7 exchanging heat between the compressed gas and an exhaust gas discharged from the turbine, and a catalyst unit 25 decomposing the odorous substance. The catalyst unit 25 is disposed between the regenerator and the combustor.
