<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a developing device capable of ensuring high cooling effect by a current of cooling air without scattering developer. <P>SOLUTION: The developing device 3 includes: a developer container 7 storing developer; at least stirring members 8 and 9 (stirring means) for stirring developer in the developer container 7 or a conveying roller (conveying means) 12 for conveying the developer; and a developing roller 10 rotated while the developer is held on its surface. In the developing device 3, an air current passage 14 having an intake port and exhaust port is formed in the developing container 7 and a current of cooling air is caused to flow in the air current passage 14. In addition, the air current passage 14 is disposed parallel to the developing roller 10, and the intake port and the exhaust port are formed at one end and the other end, respectively, of the air current passage 14.
