PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for improving the characteristics of a bio chip, especially properly fixing a biological sample on a substrate. SOLUTION: Discharging a liquid-like biological sample 350 to the cooled substrate 108 forms a biological sample 350a roughly fixed on the substrate 108 and then vacuum-freezes and dries the biological sample 350a. Thus, by discharging and solidifying (freezing) the liquid-like biological sample to the cooled substrate fixes the biological sample on the substrate, the movements of droplets can be suppressed and entrainment of air bubbles can be reduced.
