PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a connector which ensures improved workability, is less apt to be damaged, and can be reduced in size. SOLUTION: A connector 1 is provided with a connector housing 2 and a lock arm 9. The lock arm 9 has a center part in the longitudinal direction which continues into the connector housing 2 and one end 16 in the longitudinal direction which is engaged with a catching part 33 of a mating connector 4. The connector housing 2 is provided with a contact section 8, and the contact section 8 can come into contact with the lock arm 9, when one end 16 on the lock arm 9 is engaged with the catching part 33, and can come out of contact with the lock arm 9, when the other end 17 on the lock arm 9 is depressed toward the connector housing 2 and to release the engagement of one end 16 on the lock arm 9 with the catching part 33.
