The method involves determining actual ambient temperature by using a sensor (S1) and conducting a control unit (1) i.e. electronic controller, of an air conditioning system. Temperature of air supplied from the system is determined by the unit based on a target temperature for an area that is to be air-conditioned and the ambient temperature. The determined temperature is changed by an input of a desired temperature value for the air that is discharged from the system, and based on the changed temperature regulation of the ambient temperature is carried out by the system.
