<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a backlight capable of securing display quality in a liquid crystal panel, while increasing the luminance. <P>SOLUTION: The light emitted from a light-emitting lamp unit 25 is converted into planar light toward the liquid crystal panel 2 by a light guide plate 26. Ends on the lamp unit 25 side of optical sheets 51-54, located in between the light guide plate 26 and the liquid crystal panel 2 are bent toward a side part of the lamp unit 25. The strength of the optical sheets 51-54 is improved, and the display quality can be secured, by preventing flexure of the optical sheets 51-54 due to heat by the light from the lamp unit 25, even when luminance is increased. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
