<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a snap ring mounting structure capable of securing sufficient engagement between a snap ring and a groove and a supporting structure of a frictional engagement device. <P>SOLUTION: The snap ring mounting structure includes a case body having an annular groove extending around a certain axis and the snap ring 31 fitted in the groove so as to support force acting in the axial direction. The snap ring 31 includes ends 33p and 33q. The snap ring 31 has a ring-like shape which is discontinuous and interrupted at the ends 33p and 33q. Under such a condition that the snap ring 31 is fitted in the groove, the ends 33p and 33q overlap each other in the circumference direction. The ends 33p and 33q have counter surfaces facing and coming into contact with each other. At least either of the counter surfaces is rugged. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p> |
