PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surface acoustic wave device capable of improving the adhesive strength between a base portion and a cap portion. SOLUTION: The surface acoustic wave device according to the present invention comprises a base portion (11) made of resin and surrounding a surface acoustic wave element (30) and a cap portion (20) made of resin and glued onto the base portion (11) so as to have a cavity (26) for sealing the surface acoustic wave element (30) in an airtight fashion. Grain finish or mat finish is applied to an adhesion surface located at least one of both portions (11) and (20) of the base and cap portions (11) and (20).
