PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a game machine equipped with an operation means and capable of suitably reporting the fault of the operation means. SOLUTION: In operation button fault determination processing, a CPU for performance control confirms an operation detection flag (step S711). When the operation detection flag is set, the operation detection flag is reset (step S712) and a count timer for operation button fault determination is reset (step S713). When the operation detection flag is not set, whether or not the value of the count timer for the operation button fault determination is equal to or higher than a prescribed value is confirmed (step S714). When the value of the count timer for the operation button fault determination is equal to or higher than the prescribed value, the CPU for the performance control determines the fault of an operation button and sets an operation button fault flag (step S715).
