PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a drive control unit for a railway vehicle which attains optimal power management and improvement of vehicle performance, by preparing power storage means of characteristics suitable for each of the drive control unit for the vehicle and an auxiliary power supply unit for the vehicle, and exchanging power between the power storage means, in the hybrid railway vehicle. SOLUTION: The first power storage means is included in a power converting means which supplies the power to a motor to drive the vehicle, and the second power storage means is included in a power means to supply the power to the auxiliary power supply unit for the vehicle. The first power storage means and the second power storage means are connected by a power level converting means. The power is exchanged by the first power storage means and the second power storage means through the power level converting means, according to an operating state of the vehicle.
