PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manhole floatation preventing method which is practically applicable to and advantageous for prevention of floatation of not only a new manhole but particularly of an existing manhole, and to provide the manhole to which the method is applied. SOLUTION: The manhole floatation preventing method is implemented by: fixing an annular and inverted conical basket member 12 formed of gauze to a vertical wall 11 of an assembling manhole MH by anchor joint bars 13; filling a filler 14 obtained by charging gravel in sandbags to form a loading block body MB in the basket member 12; loading the weight of the loading block body MB and the weight of a roadbed on the loading block body MB on the assembling manhole MH; and setting a specific gravity of the entire manhole more than a specific gravity of liquefied soil, to thereby prevent the floatation of the manhole.
