A lever arm driving type braking device is provided to obtain a lever arm that makes it possible to manipulate the braking and parking of the lever arm driving type wheelchair in the lever arm. A wheelchair includes a frame, plural wheels, a lever arm, a power transmission device, a braking handle, a braking device and a transmission device. The frame supports a seat portion. The lever arm is mounted on at least one of the plural wheels. The braking handle is fixed and mounted on the lever arm. The braking device is mounted between one of the wheels and the lever arm, and restrains the rotation of the wheel by giving friction to the wheel through the operation of the braking handle. The transmission device transmits the operation state of the braking handle to the braking device.
