<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To display, on map information, position information and direction information concerning a terminal and a user of the terminal according to the ID inputted into the terminal. <P>SOLUTION: In a position-direction information display apparatus, position-direction ID managing data including a position-direction ID group obtained by cyclic shift of the position-direction ID consisted of one or more different characters, position information, and direction information is managed by a managing means 1c in advance. Map information made to correspond to the same coordinate system as that of the position information in the position-direction ID managing data is managed. First, character string ID is received (1a) from a terminal 3, the received character string ID is referred to the managing means 1c and, by using the position-direction ID managing means, the position-direction ID corresponding to the character string ID, position information, and direction information are obtained (1b).
