<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an antioxidant good in operability and having antioxidizing activity, and to provide cosmetics, skin care preparations and foods each containing the same. <P>SOLUTION: A low-viscosity hydrolyzate good in operability and markedly improved in antioxidizing activity is provided, which is obtained by hydrolyzing water-soluble polysaccharides extracted from the carpophore or body cells of Tremella fuciformis Berk. The antioxidant with high antioxidizing activity is obtained by including the above hydrolyzate.
