PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To propose a detector which can easily detect, before flushing processing, whether an ink is adequately fed from an ink head, and also propose a wiping device, a drawing device, a detection method, a wiping method and a drawing method. SOLUTION: The detector which detects whether a wiping part 90 operates well, the wiping part wiping up droplets by making a wiping sheet 92 contact a droplet feeding head 34 while relatively moving it, is provided with; an image pickup part 98 which picks up the images of the marks RL, GL and BL of droplets which are wiped up by the wiping sheet 92; and a droplet mark area computation part 144 which computes the areas of the droplet marks RL, GL and BL whose images are picked up.
