PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control device, which never impairs driving performance even during execution of a mode for maintaining vehicle speed at a speed limit set by a driver or less. SOLUTION: A substraction part 34 calculates a vehicle speed deviation by subtracting a vehicle speed detected by a vehicle speed sensor from the speed limit set by the driver. A comparison part 33 compares the vehicle speed deviation calculated by the substraction part 34 with a thresholdα1, and issues speed change prohibition to a speed change control part 38 when the vehicle speed deviation is smaller than the thresholdα1. The comparison part 35 further compares the vehicle speed deviation calculated by the substraction part 34 with a thresholdα2 (α2<α1), and validates output to a timer 37 when the vehicle speed deviation is smaller than the thresholdα2. The timer 37 issues release of speed change prohibition to the speed change control part 38 when the valid state of output from the comparison part 35 is maintained for a predetermined period.
