PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rolling element retainer, which improves the retaining force of a rolling element while preventing deterioration of assembling property and operability of a linear guide device, and a linear guide device provided therewith. SOLUTION: The rolling element retainer 6 comprises: a slider body 10 erected on a guide rail 2 to be relatively movable; two mounting parts 28 to be joined to both moving directional end surfaces of the slider body 10; and a retaining part 30 disposed between both the mounting parts 28 to connect both the mounting parts 28, and facing a slider-side rolling element rolling groove 14 across a plurality of rolling elements 24 charged in a load rolling path 18, with both the mounting parts 28 being connected to both the moving directional end surfaces of the slider body 10. The retaining part 30 includes a resin-made retaining portion 32 formed using a resin material, and a metallic retaining portion 34 formed using a metallic material and extending in the moving direction of the slider body 10.
