The device has inlet and an outlet connections, where one of the connections comprises a clamping body (10), into which a conductor end of a conductor that is to be attached is inserted. A screw (12) exerts a clamping pressure on the conductor during or after intervening or screwing the screw into the clamping body. A clamping unit is provided for firmly clamping a bus bar (26) on a side of the clamping body that faces the screw. The clamping unit has a spring element (18) that is installed at the clamping body. The spring element has a limb (20) that is interpolated into the body. An independent claim is also included for a method for attaching a bus bar to an installation fitting device.
