METHOD FOR OVERLOAD-BASED HANDOVER CALL ADMISSION CONTROL IN MOBILE CELLULAR NETWORKS

A method for controlling the admission of an overload-based handover call in a mobile communication system is provided to apply call admission priority to a handover call entering from a cell in an adjacent overload status rather than a handover call entering from a cell not in the overload status, thereby enabling a cell in the overload status to admit various waiting handover calls quickly with the less generation of available resource. A method for controlling the admission of an overload-based handover call in a mobile communication system comprises the following steps of: allowing a specific cell to receive a handover request message from an adjacent cell(101); checking the specific cell is currently in an overload status(102); admitting a requested handover call if the specific cell is not in the overload status(103); checking whether the cell of a handover request call is in the overload status if the specific cell is in the overload status(104); queuing the requested handover call to a second queue if the cell of the handover request call is not in the overload status(108); arranging handover calls through an MDTF(Minimum Dwell Time First) method in the second queue(109); and checking whether a value of added one, a newly entering handover call, to the number of handover calls entering an adjacent overload cell(Nho-in) is smaller than a large number out of the number of handover calls entering an existing adjacent overload cell and the number of handover calls going out into an adjacent overload cell(105).
