PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing method with which the effect of illumination due to an illumination means can be appropriately corrected by using one image of a subject illuminated by the illumination means. SOLUTION: An image taken by illuminating a subject with a flash unit 107 and surrounding illuminations is captured, the captured image is divided into at least two or more regions of a main subject region and a background subject region, information about illuminations of the divided regions is determined and based on the determined information about the illuminations of the main subject region and the background subject region, the color of the main subject region is corrected.
