PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel evaluation method for skin barrier function restoring agent, capable of simply, quickly and surely evaluating whether a compound has skin barrier function restoring effects, and to provide an evaluation kit. SOLUTION: The size of the ribosome in the ribosome solution, which is prepared by adding a compound that serves as a candidate for skin barrier function restoring agent, is used as an index and is evaluated in that skin barrier function restoring effect is higher, the smaller size of ribosome is. The ribosome solution can be produced by drying and solidifying a film-forming solution comprising a phospholipid solution for forming a film, and adding a buffer solution to this film, prior to the addition of the compound that serves as the candidate for the skin barrier function restoring agent.
