PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and apparatus for performing integrity protection of a concatenated message. SOLUTION: The method for performing integrity protection includes receiving a concatenated message including a NAS message, a first MAC code of the NAS message, a RRC message and a second MAC code of the concatenated message, performing an integrity protection procedure for the concatenated message, and discarding the RRC message and NAS message and not delivering the NAS message to an upper layer when the second MAC code does not pass the integrity protection procedure.
