PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mobile terminal device capable of switching a display direction of contents automatically only by rotating the mobile terminal device. SOLUTION: A content rotation processing unit 13b rotates a display direction of display contents with respect to a display 12a in accordance with a rotating direction and a rotating angle of a mobile terminal device 100 detected by an acceleration sensor unit 16 when displaying still picture/motion picture contents on the display 12a as display contents. A content enlargement/reduction processing unit 13c then enlarges/reduces the display contents into a state where the display contents can be displayed on the display 12a without changing its aspect ratio. If a display screen of the display 12a is constituted of a rectangular shape, a position to rotate the display direction of display contents is defined as any one of four directions along with four sides forming the display screen. A predetermined sensitive area is included as an angle range where the rotation of the display direction of display contents is validated regarding the rotating angle of the mobile terminal device 100.
