PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable the video recording reservation etc. of a simply guided content using another content guide included in video data presently received or played back. SOLUTION: A video recording/playback unit includes a content information extraction section 200 for extracting content information indicative of a content which is different from the video data presently received or played back, and based on first content information extracted by the content information extraction section 200, a recording/playback control section for controlling the recording or playback of a first content corresponding to the first content information. By this, during viewing a program, it is easily possible to perform reserved video recording etc. from the content guide such as program advertisement displayed in the middle of the program presently received or already recorded, and thus, user convenience is improved.
