PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a continuous measuring method of the characteristics of a liquid capable of precisely and continuously measuring the characteristics of the liquid containing foreign matters even if frequent maintenances or the calibrations of a measuring result is not performed. SOLUTION: The adhesion or deposition of the foreign matter 3 in a measuring target liquid 1 to a characteristic measuring part 2 and the vicinal part thereof is reduced by varying the relative position of a measuring target liquid 1 of which the characteristics are measured and the characteristic measuring part 2 for measuring the characteristics of the measuring target liquid 1.
