PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To elongate service life of a contact surface and its peripheral members by stabilizing the contact of the terminals of a battery with the terminals of an electric power tool, and also by preventing the thermal deformation of a housing. SOLUTION: The battery type portable electric power tool comprises the housing 5 for retaining a motor 10 therein, a handle portion formed on the housing 5, a storage battery 1 capable of being dismountably mounted to the handle portion, the terminals 2 provided on the storage battery 1, the terminals 3 to be brought into contact with the terminals 2, terminal supports 6 to be connected to one end sides of the terminals 3, and a storage portion for arranging the terminal supports 6 in the handle portion. Further, a pressing member 4 is provided, which is composed of a first portion, which is fixed to the terminal supports 6 together with the terminals 3 at one end thereof, and presses the outer circumferences of the terminals 3 at the other end, and a second portion, which is brought into contact with the inner circumference of the housing 5 at one end thereof, and presses the outer circumferences of the terminals 3 at the other end.
