PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To convey even a sheet the length of which is shorter than the sheet conveying distance between a folding device and a pair of discharge rollers when the sheet is folded at the center without causing jamming. SOLUTION: This sheet processing device 2 comprises the folding device 40 for folding the sheet into two parts by folding the intermediate part of the sheet received by a stopper 23 for receiving the end of the conveyed sheet and a pair of discharge rollers 31, 32 for conveying the sheet folded into two parts. When the length of the sheet folded at the center is shorter than the sheet conveying distance between the folding device 40 and the pair of discharge rollers 31, 32, the stopper and the folding device are moved relative to each other. Consequently, when the folding position of the sheet is so changed that the distance between the front end or the rear end of the sheet to the folding position is longer than the sheet conveying distance, the sheet can be delivered between the folding device 40 and the pair of discharge rollers 31, 32.
