PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To recover cellulose acylate without degradation it from a multilayer sheet including a fatty acid ester layer containing a fatty acid ester and a polymer and a cellulose acylate layer. SOLUTION: A multilayer sheet 10 having a fatty acid ester layer 15 and a cellulose acylate layer 13 integrated is finely cut into chips 26. The fatty acid ester layer contains a fatty acid ester and a polymer. By putting the chips 26 together with water 56 and an abrasive 55 into a main body 60 of a grinding and cleaning section 56 and stirring with a stirring machine 62, the component of an optical compensation layer is scraped and removed from the chips 26. After the grinding process, the chips 26 are washed with water and dried by a drying section 57 to obtain cellulose acylate. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
