PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent an attaching axial tension from getting lower than that required for performance of a sensor after a durability test, in attaching structure with a sensor forming main member comprising a low Young's modulus of resin, and for attaching the sensor onto an engine by axially compressing a cylindrical part of the main member. SOLUTION: In this attaching structure for the sensor, the sensor with the resin main member 11 is attached to an internal combustion engine, by penetrating a bolt 200 through an inner hole of the cylindrical part 12, and by bringing the cylindrical part 12 into an axis G-directionally compressed condition, in the nonresonant type knocking sensor 1 with a piezoelectric element 21 fit around the cylindrical part 12 of the main member 11 and compressed on a flange 13. The attaching axial tension Ft along an axis G direction of the cylindrical part 12 by the bolt 200 is made to be 5000N or more therein, and the cylindrical part is formed to bring axial total contractionδof the cylindrical part when attached, into 2% or less of the axial full length of the cylindrical part.
