PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve efficient and economical coating work by carrying out two different kinds of coating works using one coating gun. SOLUTION: A coating apparatus 10 is provided with one coating gun 16. The coating gun 16 is provided with a first coating material spray port 40, a first coating material passage 38 communicating with the first coating material spray port 40, a second coating material spray port 50 and a second coating material passage 46 communicating with the second coating material spray port 50. The coating gun 16 is provided with a first coating material supply mechanism 18 for supplying a first coating material to the first coating material spray port 40 and a second coating material supply mechanism 20 for supplying a second coating material to the second coating material spray port 50. The coating work using the first coating material and the coating work using the second coating material are independently carried out by selectively driving the first coating material supply mechanism 18 and the second coating material supply mechanism 20.
