PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a low-cost manufacturing method for a plastic container coated with a film, whereby a gas barrier thin film free from damage by plasma can be safely and highly speedily formed on a three-dimensional plastic container at low temperatures by employing a manufacturing apparatus that requires no expensive equipment and material compared with a plasma CVD film formation apparatus. SOLUTION: The manufacturing method for the plastic container coated with the barrier film includes the step of supplying a carbon-source material gas to the inside of a vacuum chamber storing the plastic container, the step of spraying the carbon-source material gas over a heat catalyst, thereby decomposing this gas and forming a chemical species, the step of volatilizing a metal species from the hot wire, and the step of causing the chemical species or metal species to reach at least the internal or external surface of the container, thereby forming a DLC thin film containing the metal species.
