The method involves driving an internal combustion engine (12) e.g. petrol engine, for receiving driving force, while combusting a mixing fuel in a combustion chamber (14) of the engine. The mixing fuel is produced by mixing petrol, ethanol and water in a mixing device. A ratio of the mixture, which is to be added to the petrol under controlling/regulation of an electronic control unit, is adjusted based on information of a determining unit, which determines an operating condition of the internal combustion engine. An independent claim is also included for a fuel supply system for supply of a mixing fuel to a combustion chamber of a internal combustion engine.
