The optical component has a layer of a material that is sensitive for a certain wavelength. A location-dependent differently navigated double refraction produced by exposure to the wavelength is arranged in such a manner that input radiation with homogeneous polarization is convertible into output radiation with location-dependent polarization. The layer of the material sensitive for a certain wavelength is formed from a photo addressable material, particularly a photo addressable polymer. An independent claim is also included for a method for production of optical component.
