摘要 An apparatus for generating and expressing foam on a water surface and a method therefor are provided to add fine information to a water simulation result used in an animation and a movie, generate foam information on the basis of a rule to increase reality, perform the water surface mapping process of a generation time and the foam information in which a half-life is added, perform the shading and rendering process of the processed information, and generate a real rendering image in which the foam is expressed on the water surface. A rule-based foam generating module(10) receives an each frame classified simulation result of a water simulation image as a particle or grating type from an external 3D fluid simulator, and compares information capable of being selected according to a rule which a user wants to use in information included in respective points of the respective particles or gratings with information corresponding to respective points of peripheral particles or gratings. The rule-based foam generating module generates foam particle information of a water surface as a 3D coordinate type on the corresponding point according to acquired complexity. A foam information water surface mapping module(30) uses the generated 3D foam particle information of the water surface in visualization, maps the 3D foam particle information to a water surface mesh provided from the external 3D fluid simulator, and connects the 3D foam particle information of the water surface to a vertex of a water surface mesh located in the nearest point. The foam information water surface mapping module converts the number of 3D foam particles connected to the vertex of the corresponding water surface mesh into a color value in the point, and stores the color value as water surface mesh information needed in rendering. If a color value of a specific vertex of the water surface mesh is requested, a foam shading module(40) reads and confirms the color value in which the foam particle information of the corresponding vertex is recorded from the foam information water surface mapping module, multiplies the value by a specific foam texture or a specific color value, and calculates a color value of the last vertex. A renderer(50) receives the water mesh information stored in the foam information water surface mapping module, applies the obtained color value of the last vertex, and generates a rendering image in which foam is expressed on the water surface.
