<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printer with a scanner that achieves a reduction in manufacturing costs and installation area. <P>SOLUTION: A scanner part 3 is slidable between a normal use position and a prescribed maintenance position, which is used when executing maintenance of a printer part 3, by a rotation support part 7 while being rotatable at the maintenance position. The gravity of the scanner part 5 is located further forward than the position of the rotation support part 7 at the normal use position while the gravity is located further rearward than the position of the rotation support part 7 at the maintenance position.
