PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a structure, capable of performing further high-speed operation in a self-aligning roller bearing with retainer by further stabilizing the attitude of each spherical roller to further surely prevent skew of each spherical roller. SOLUTION: Both circumferential side surfaces of each columnar part 9a, 9a of a retainer 4b are formed into recessed curved surfaces facing the rolling surface of each spherical roller 3 through a pocket clearance to which lubricant can be fed. In relation to the axial direction of each spherical roller 3, the length of each columnar part 9a, 9a is set to be equal to or more than the length of each spherical roller 3. Further, the width dimension of the outside opening of each pocket 7a, 7a is set to a dimension such that each spherical roller 3 can be pushed through the outside opening by elastically deforming each columnar part 9a, 9a in the circumferential direction.
