PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the method for producing an orbital ring member such as an outer ring 2 having a fitting part 6 at the outer circumferential face and a plurality lines of outer ring orbits 5 at the inner circumferential face respectively, and to secure the rolling contact fatigue life of both orbital rings. SOLUTION: A stock 16 is worked into a fifth intermediate stock 25 through: a first upsetting stage shown by (A)→(B); a front-rear extrusion stage shown by (B)→(C); a second upsetting stage shown by (C)→(D); a deburring stage shown by (D)→(E); and a blanking stage shown by (E)→(F). In the front-rear extrusion stage, a second intermediate stock 22 in which both first and second circular recessed parts 26, 27 are partitioned by a bulkhead part 28 is obtained. In this state, a metallic material 13 in the intermediate part in the radial direction among metallic materials composing the stock 16 is made present at the part to be formed with the outer ring orbits 5. Further, in the second upsetting stage, the fitting part 6 is formed without changing the internal shape of both the first and second circular recessed parts 26, 27, so as to obtain a third intermediate stock 23.
